Classified Syria Intelligence Fails to Prove Assad Used Chemical Weapons

Pope Francis Tweets For Peace In Syria With Hashtag #Prayforpeace

Pope Francis has not held back from expressing his vehement opposition to a military strike on Syria, tweeting almost exclusively about peace since September 1st from his @Pontifex handle. While decrying the use of chemical weapons, he has also urged “With all my strength, I ask each party in the conflict not to close themselves in solely on their own interests. #prayforpeace.”

” Before our eyes “

Western rationality

by Thierry Meyssan
All observers have noted the high proportion of children among the victims. The United States has counted 426, or more than a third. Some observers, but neither those of the US nor their French counterparts, were intrigued to find that victims were almost all of the same age and they had no families to cry over them. Stranger still, the gas would have killed children and adult men, but would have spared women.

Saudi Arabia’s “Chemical Bandar” behind the Chemical Attacks in Syria?

GLOBAL RESEARCH By Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya  5 September 2013

This article provides information about Ain Tarma, which was reportedly affected by the chemical attack. It looks at the plight of women in ‘rebel’ held areas.  (Ain Tarma was sparsely populated, so where did the children come from?)  More below image

Sex and the Syrian Revolution

Sexual Jihad in Ain Tarma

by REEM HADDAD  July 17, 2013

25 August 2013

According to MAIL ONLINE, Ain Tarma  on the outskirts of Damascus was affected by an alleged chemical weapons attack.   There are images of Ain Tarma in this 25 August MAIL ONLINE report.

A street that was hit by a gas attack in the Damascus suburbs of Ain Tarma is completely deserted after yesterday's attack

Just over one month ago, an article by Reem Haddad appeared in CounterPunch titled: Sexual Jihad in Ain Tarma

The article gives an impression of the ideology of the armed fighters in Ain Tarma, those presumably making the accusations about the Syrian government using chemical weapons there on 21 August 2013.

Sexual Jihad in Ain Tarma  17 July 2013, CounterPunch

When Lina entered Ain Tarma, it was like walking into a ghost city with no water, no electricity and the complete destruction of private and public property. It was inhabited by men who looked different to most Syrians. They wore knee-length robes and hennaed hair. They carried machetes, knives and handcuffs. She saw cars with no license plate numbers and a hospital ambulance that had obviously been stolen. Even worse,  she felt as if she were dressed in a bikini, as all the other women there were completely covered from head to toe and wore long gloves.

It was in Ain Tarma that Lina had a heart-to-heart conversation with her husband and it was that conversation which made her reconsider the very essence of her core beliefs – her very faith.  For Lina, Islam had always been there for her – to fall back on in times of need – to follow and be guided by in times of anguish and despair. It served as her protective clothing and the heart of her hearts.

But she heard a different Islam from her husband, one that was alien, dark and perverted. The sheikh, who lived in Ain Tarma had urged everyone to Jihad, her husband told her, but Jihad apparently took on many faces.  One could take arms and fight or one could help finance the fight and if neither were possible, then one could still do Jihad –”Jihad Al  Nikah,” which translates roughly into English as sexual Jihad. One could and indeed should (for it was a God-ordained duty) marry the young widows of all the men who had lost their lives in the fight. In “Jihad Al Nikah” a man must marry up to four women. He could then divorce them in a short time, only to marry others! The divorced women , would also in turn, marry different men and so on and so on…

This report from Arabi Press gives some indication of how ‘radical Islamists’ in control of parts of rural Damascus  treat Christians, Alawis, Druze, or anyone who has ‘let them down’.   It has been translated by a member of AMRIS.

It is presented on this page as it may help provide a context for the crisis in Syria and the possible motivation of those who have alleged that the Syrian army used chemical weapons against civilians.   What are they capable of and to whom?  Why?  (Of course, that should not distract from other important questions: what are the governments of the US, the UK, and France capable of and for whom?  Why?  What is our own government capable of?)

The “Intellectuals” of Duma authorise the taking of possessions and property of Alawites, Christians and Druze

11/8/2013  Arabi Press

34 of Duma’s religious Ulama have issued a fatwa permitting the residents of Duma and Rural Damascus in Syria to take the property and possessions of the region’s Alawite, Christian and Druze communities and other minorities, in addition to boycotting the residents of Damascus for- according to the Ulama- letting down the revolutionaries and forsaking them.

The Website of Ajel News Network stipulated that the properties will be confiscated in Duma and rural Damascus , and utilised to ” buy weapons and help the poor, widowed and orphaned”, according to the wording of the Fatwa.

The Fatwa stipulates:

Our people in Duma and rural Damascus…in light of the teachings of the Qur’aan and the Sunnah of our prophet we make the following declarations:

The confiscation of what remains of the possessions of Christians and the taking of what remains of the properties of Alawites, Druze and others who do not follow the Sunnah of our dear prophet, and the use of part of it to buy arms and the other part is to be distributed to the poor, orphaned and the families and widows of martyrs.

The boycotting of the residents of Damascus, the sons of our skin, because they let us down and they have forsaken our victory, overcome by cowardice and fear for their brows

We ask our people to keep their Islamic traditions, such as caring for the houses of God and the insistence on entering them.

THE RUSSIAN POSITION ON THE CHEMICAL ATTACK  http://www.alhadathnews.net/archives/95275

This article has been taken from Al-Hadath News and translated from Arabic.  23 August 2013

A Syrian diplomatic source revealed that the high-level Russian delegation made a clear statement coupled with solid documentation about the massacre that targeted East Gouta and this “silenced everyone and made them rethink their positions.”

The source, who preferred anonymity, in an interview, states that the official story about the Syrian massacre confirmed that militants fired two rockets loaded with chemicals from the area always in Rural Damascus, under the control of insurgents. Images of Russian satellites confirmed the story.

The source pointed out, in this connection, that the Russian position was, unusually, the most radical of the positions of European countries and even the U.S. position regarding the need to investigate the massacre, explained, “The Russian position was based on satellite images, The images illustrate and definitively that the militants are those who used chemical weapons. “

About the motivation of the opposition militants to commit this massacre, the source added that “a militant faction apparently wanted to exploit the presence of the Commission of Inquiry to increase shuffling papers, in collaboration with one of the Arab countries, without informing Western countries on such a step, they fired the rockets.”

The source cited accurately Syrian story about the failure of Member States to request images of U.S. satellites, as usual in the previous cases, the Russian-sufficiency pictures, which apparently it was “identical with the image of America to form the definitive document no doubt about it.”

The source believed that this massacre will have a major political impact on the position of the countries supporting the insurgency, led by France, which will re-evaluate its position, especially since this crime occurred without informing in advance their intelligence services, putting them in a critical position.

The source said that a “radical” opposition faction was to one who fired the chemical rockets and it was working under the command of a Gulf Arab state, that the source did not want to identify. While Saudi Arabia is the biggest supporter of the armed opposition and particularly the radical militants in its midst.

A very  fragile statement  was issued by the UN Security Council, where the Council did not accuse directly the regime in Syria of being the perpetrator. Contrary to the opinion of the European countries that started from the first day  a campaign to accuse the regime, but the Council called for a report that leads to define responsibilities and those who stand behind what happened.

There are witnesses reporting that in the night of the 21st to 22nd of August more than 30 ambulances were transporting injured Syrian soldiers from Eastern Goutta to the Mezzeh hospital. They were victims of sudden chemical attack from the armed opposition. More then 50 officers and soldiers were severely injured. But the authorities did not want to mention to keep high the moral of the troops.

Vatican urges caution over Syria chemical arms claims

23 August 2013

VATICAN CITY (AFP) – The Vatican on Thursday called for caution over opposition allegations that the Syrian regime used chemical weapons in an attack in the suburbs of Damascus – a charge denied by the authorities.

“There should not be a judgment until there is sufficient proof,” Mr Silvano Tomasi, the Vatican’s permanent observer at the United Nations in Geneva, said in an interview with Vatican radio.

“What immediate interest would the government in Damascus have in causing such a tragedy?” he asked, adding that the real question was: “Who does this inhuman crime really benefit?”

Mr Tomasi also restated the Vatican’s opposition to armed intervention in Syria, calling for negotiations “without preconditions” and a “transition government”.

This video presents a view of armed men in Syria fighting for a Caliphate.  They are threatening action if  their allegations against the Syrian government and Alawites are not taken seriously.   Does our government  support them?  Do WE support them?  And if not, do we know what and whom we support?

Those who have never traveled to Syria may want to know what regular Syrians look like. . …. They look pretty regular.

In the early 1950s, the US and Britain conspired to remove the Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh.  The British called it “Operation Boot”, and the US dubbed it “TPAJAX Project“.   Was this a proud act committed by our allies or something shameful and criminal?  Did it support peace and democracy or did it open the door to decades of abuse toward the people of Iran?

What names have been invented for the plan to remove President Assad of Syria?  Who is in on the plan?  Who are the boots on the ground to carry out the plan?  What are they capable of doing?  What is the ideology they adopt to kill?  What actions are necessary for the plan to succeed?  What will the long-term consequences be for us all if it is successful?

Syria and Experts Cast Doubt about Chemical Attack: Was a terrorist chemical stockpile hit?

Murad Makhmudov and Lee Jay Walker

Modern Tokyo Times  Thursday August 22 2013

Once more the enemies of the Syrian government are whipping up reports about an alleged chemical attack by the armed forces of Syria without any firm knowledge of what really happened. It would be absurd for the Syrian government to use chemical weapons to any degree because outside nations want an excuse to enter this independent country. Also, with the United Nations (UN) being prepared to investigate past allegations then the timing is equally suspicious.

Rolf Ekeus, a retired diplomat from Sweden and a former inspector for the United Nations (UN) in Iraq, comments that “It would be very peculiar if they were to do this at the exact moment the international inspectors come into the country.”  Other commentators and experts who are impartial state the same. After all, the government of Syria would be committing self-induced suicide because nations like China, Iran, and the Russian Federation, would distance themselves from any government in the world which used chemicals…..

Damascus Chemical Weapons Attack: Syrian Govt Massacre or the Nth False Flag Attack?

Published on Aug 22, 2013

Scores of men, women and children were killed outside Damascus on Wednesday in an attack marked by what appeared to be signs of chemical weapons: row after row of corpses without visible injury; hospitals flooded with victims, gasping for breath, trembling and staring ahead languidly.

But even with videos, witness accounts and testimonies by emergency medics, it was impossible to say for certain how many people had been killed and what exactly had killed them. The “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) terrorists blamed the government, the government denied involvement, and Russia accused the terrorists of staging the attack to implicate the Syrian government.

FSA terrorists staging false flag attacks is nothing new. The Syrian conflict is rich in unfortunate incidents including many massacres that have been committed by the FSA terrorists in order to blame the Syrian government in a desperate effort to delegitimize it. This almost always happens right before a major United Nations or international event to influence decisions that might call for external intervention in Syria. Such false flag attacks include the massacres at Houla, Karm al-Zeitoun, Aqrab, Haswiya, Daraya, and Quweiq river, as well as the mortar attacks in Akçakale, Turkey.

FSA terrorists have previously threatened to use chemical weapons, and have been filmed using a variety of chemical weapons, such as hand-held guns and white phosphorus shells.

Some videos showing FSA terrorists using chemical weapons:
